APRA-NY Chapter Update 9-9-2020

APRA-NY has been busy throughout the year engaging with our members and working to support them and their goals for this year. We have taken several actions to provide stronger benefits to our membership in the era of COVID-19.

This year, we waived all APRA-NY chapter membership dues for current members. Each current member has had their membership extended for an additional one year beyond their renewal date in 2020. A majority of our members come from nonprofit institutions and face serious budget cuts and restrictions. The APRA-NY board of directors is empathetic to this and wants to support the membership during these tough economic times.

APRA-NY has also reduced membership by 50% for the APRA-NY chapter for the remainder of 2020. A new member can join for $25.00 before December 31, 2020, and the membership will be active until December 31, 2021.

Like many other organizations, our spring conference had to be cancelled and rescheduled. This would have been APRA-NY’s first multi-day conference. The conference committee has been working hard and thanks to our lineup of great speakers, the committee was able to redesign the conference. This coming October 15, 2020, will be the APRA-NY 2020 Virtual Conference. The committee was able to pivot the conference to a one-day virtual conference for FREE. Yes, FREE! Due to our generous conference sponsors and the generosity of our speakers, we are able to offer the conference completely free for any individual that would like to attend. Please check out the conference website for full details at

The mantra of APRA-NY of “Share the Knowledge” is strong and resonates with us every day. Our members and the opportunities that we can provide to our members is always top of mind in the decisions we make. We are strong because of our membership. Thank you for being a member of APRA-NY.
